I was looking at some of the news from Spain in www.elpais.es when I was struck by this ad. No flashy flash. No movement. No music. No cute interaction.
Rather, a very straightforward pitch: 7 powerful aromas that really clean. Then, two buttons: one for downloading a coupon and another for watching their TV spots.
Could the internet have found its voice?
What did I find outstanding?
First – It plays to my intelligence. Pinesol takes it for granted that there are other media out there and that I am familiar with the brand and what the product does.
Second – Pinesol appeals to my basest instincts. Coupon? Right on!
Third – It gives me the chance to interact with the ad if I choose to: watch some commercials, find out more about the brand
Fourth – Absolutely clean and uncluttered.
Bottom line: love it. Too bad this is from Spain and the coupon won’t work in Miami. I would have printed it in a second.
